Sir or Madam
Thlis letter serves as official notice that you have failed to comply with a court ordered time payment on fines owed the Hempstead County Sheriff's Department. As a result, your fines are in arrears.
Pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated section 26-36-301 et.seq. the Revenue Division of the Department of Finance and Admnistration (DF&A) has advised the Hempstead County Sheriff's Department that if you have a pending claim for a refund, DF&A intends to apply the refund to the debt you owe the Hempstead County Sheriff's Department.
You are entitled to a hearing concerning the validity of this debt. Your request of hearing must be directed to the Warrants Officer for the Hempstead County Sheriff's Department at the address found on this letter with in 30 days of the date found on the letter. Failure to request a hearing with 30 days will result in application of your refund to the debt.
Please note, as stated in the Arkansas Individual Income Tax Instructions, if you or your spouse has a debt with any State, City, or County agency, you must file status 5 to ensure your portion of the refund will not be offset to satisfy the debt.
Do not contact the Revenue Division to attempt to resolve the validity of the debt.
The validity of the debt must be resolved between the debtor and the Hempstead County Sheriff's Department.
Should you have additional questions, contact the Hempstead County Sheriff's Department Warrants Officer at 870-777-6727.
Sincerely,
James A. Singleton,
Sheriff
